If you want to get the feel for a town or city, you pick up their local newspaper. If you want to get a feel for the pulse of Duquesne University, take a look at the student newspaper. If there is something exciting going on, a newsworthy story, or a University event, you’ll find in the Duquesne Duke. The newspaper is written by students for the University community. Duquesne held its annual Student Activites Expo last Tuesday. Here’s a short video from the event and some photos.
The fair is a great way to see all the organizations Duquesne students are involved in and discover new groups you never knew about.
Two great organizations I recommend are Amnesty International, which meets Wednesdays at 9pm in the Campus Ministy (bottom of Towers LLC), and Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society. For more information either email duqamnesty@gmail.com or duqenglish@gmail.com.
