Duquesne is providing more H1N1 vaccines.  The following are the remaining dates:

  • Mon. Nov. 9 St. Martin, first floor lounge, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Tues Nov. 10 St. Ann, Rec Room, 3-7 p.m.
  • Wed. Nov. 11 Commuter Lounge, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Thu. Nov. 12 Towers Multipurpose, 3-7 p.m.

There’s no appointment necessary.  Just stop by.  If you have any questions, call Health Services at 412.396.1650

Here’s some information on available H1N1 vaccine at Duquesne:

Flu Vaccines

The Duquesne University Student Health Service has received the Flu Mist H1N1 vaccine. The vaccine will be administered free to Duquesne students on a first-come-first-served basis on the following dates:

  • Wed., Oct. 21, 2009, 4 to 7 p.m., Campus Ministry Lounge in the Towers LLC
  • Fri., Oct. 23, 2009, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Duquesne Union, Second Floor (near Starbucks)

This vaccine is indicated for use primarily in healthy persons between the ages of 2 and 49. It is not indicated for pregnant women, persons with certain underlying health conditions and health care workers who deal with severely immune suppressed persons.

The injectionable vaccine for H1N1 is not available now but will be distributed at a later time. The injected vaccine is indicated for persons with underlying chronic health conditions and pregnant women.

If you have had an adverse reaction to a flu shot, are allergic to eggs or their proteins, please check with your health care provider to determine you should receive this vaccine. If you have any questions please call 412.396.1650.

The seasonal flu vaccine will be available on Oct. 20, on the fifth floor of Fisher Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
